Everyone has a story, the air is full of stories. The creative process is mysterious, I don’t know why it is that suddenly a theme will take hold of me and refuse to leave me in peace until I investigate it and write it.. — Isabel Allende

I believe author Isabel Allende’s sentiment when she wrote, “Everyone has a story.” Some stories are dramatic. Some are humorous. Some are easily shared with friends and family. Some are hidden in the secret places only their holders know exist. Stories are, indeed, everywhere. It’s as if “the air is full of stories,” as Allende supposes.
My life has been a mosaic of stories set in a variety of venues, populated by many diverse characters, and filled with a plethora of emotion. From time to time, I commit one of these mosaics to writing – a tale from an Oklahoma childhood, a remembrance of teenage first love, a chronicle of a journey that changed my direction.
But, my stories also extend beyond the memoirs of my life. They are stories of angels and pirates, of inspiration and adventure. They began in daydreams — my imagination working in the most fantastical of ways to confront the real challenges my children faced. Soon I had to put these fantasies into tangible form. The people who populated my daydream worlds had, as Allende said, taken hold and refused to leave until I wrote their stories. My stories.
I hope you stay with me on my writing journey as I work through the “mysterious process” of completing two middle reader fiction novels. I can’t wait to share more about my stories with you.
What is your story?

My story is just blundering from one mistake to another, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Am definitely looking forward to the stories you have to share!

I am enjoying your blog. And, I don’t notice any “blundering” — just good advice wrapped in humor.

I think it is good to end the post with asking for the readers knowledge or experience with the situation discussed as you did. If you get a response will you reply to it? Also, perhaps you need to update your image with your new haircut? What do you think?
